It is best to contact your childbirth instructor as soon as possible after you find out your due date. Classes usually end about 2 to 4 weeks before your due date. Instructors will often try to fit you into a class even if you call later in your pregnancy.
The classes are held at the Miller School - 850 Spencer Rd in Brighton, MI. They run in 4 week sessions, 1 night per week. Please contact us for the appropriate class for your due date.
Yes, private weekend classes are available for those who have limited time available or would feel more comfortable in a private setting. Please contact us for more information.
Yes, it is still a good idea. Every pregnancy is different and you may find yourself wanting or needing a different approach than you did the last time. Refresher classes are available.
Yes this class will give you information about an epidural as well as other methods of labor and birthing pain relief so you can make the best decision for you. Birthing plans often change at the hospital - a mom who expected to have a natural birth may find herself suddenly wanting the "magic needle". A mom who planned an epidural may not feel the need to have one, thus needing childbirth education and also an epidural is not always an option - depending on the circumstances. It is best to have the most information possible so you can be prepared for any situation.
You should still take childbirth classes if you are having a cesarean birth. Denise explains what is going on with your body during the pregnancy, what it will be like in the hospital, and also after the surgery and postpartum.
There is no pressure in the classes. Information and education is provided for all circumstances and options.
Still have questions? Please contact us anytime! We look forward to hearing from you.
